In his most recent paintings his intention has
been to start with a drawn well defined image of landscape or
the figure, and then to let the paint and the imagination take
over in building layers to create the essence and the atmosphere
of the subject at a moment of time. Usually the painting sits
in front of him for a period, before committing to the final
marks. He looks on this as a journey still to be completed.
